Open or Close A Successful Meeting in Amsterdam!

The ZDHC Focus Area Meeting in Amsterdam was very productive, and our ADEC team was very excited to meet with our CleanChain brands and ZDHC. The meeting covered many topics, including preparation for the ZDHC MRSL v2.0 release in early 2020, review of the scope and content for v2.0 of the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines.
September 19 was also the first official ZDHC Gateway Day, where ADEC’s own Dinali Mallikage and Neliana Fuenmayor presented on future Gateway developments.

Open or Close A Successful Meeting in Portland!

ZDHC hosted in-person Focus Area Meetings on May 7-9 in Portland, Oregon. ADEC Innovations has a long relationship with ZDHC, including as the technology provider of ZDHC Gateway. Both our ADEC ZDHC team and our ADEC CleanChain team had an opportunity to participate in the events. And together with ZDHC, we reaffirmed our collaboration and aligned on our common vision. The meetings also gave us the opportunity to strategize on how to ensure that development of CleanChain aligns with ZDHC initiatives to improve efficiencies with brands and suppliers and avoid duplication of effort.

Open or Close ADEC Innovations at the UNEA: Transforming the Fashion Industry

ADEC Innovations and members of the CleanChain team recently traveled to Nairobi to attend the 4th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA). The week-long meeting included member states, coalitions, NGO’s, and the private sector, and had an overriding theme of addressing sustainable consumption and production as well as finding innovative solutions for environmental challenges.

Managing supply chain connections, conducting assessments, tracking corrective actions, and aggregating all this information into useful reports are necessary tasks that are both time-consuming and labor-intensive. However, an effective automated solution can greatly reduce these costs, taking on much of the labor of auditing.

Open or Close Screened Chemistry in Action

ZDHC Signatory Brands C&A, H&M, Levi Strauss & Co., and NIKE, recently announced that they have aligned their Screened Chemistry tools and approaches. These brands are converging within the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme in order to encourage broader adoption and innovation. All four brands have adopted the ZDHC MRSL, and Screened Chemistry is a process to assess, score, and certify formulations to help find and identify safer alternatives.

Open or Close ADEC Innovations Recognized with OutSystems’ Environmental Impact Award

ADEC Innovations has been awarded the 2018 OutSystems Innovation Awards’ Environmental Impact Award. It is the fifth award ADEC Innovations has received in the past year for our software solutions.
Speaking on the decision to grant the award, OutSystems cited our industry-changing software solutions: “With the ability to repurpose functionality from several applications to solve similar challenges in other markets, the team developed four customized apps. The ZDHC Gateway Chemical and Wastewater Modules identify greener chemistry within textile manufacturing processes. CleanChain helps ensure sustainable operational practices in the supply chain. CDPInsights helps companies understand and benchmark their climate change performance. And MetricsTrac helps companies improve their sustainability performance organization-wide.”

ADEC Innovations will be attending the ZDHC Annual Meeting (Dec 4-5th) and the Friends of ZDHC Event (Dec 6-7th) in Amsterdam. ADEC Innovations team members are in Amsterdam this month, working alongside the ZDHC Foundation at the Input and Output Focus Area Meetings. ZDHC, ADEC Innovations, and members of the global apparel, footwear, and leather value chains came together to further our shared goal of eliminating the discharge of hazardous chemicals into our environment.
ADEC Innovations presented to a group of 45 ZDHC contributors on new features released in the ZDHC Chemical Gateway and Wastewater Module during 2018, as well as updates from the last Focus Area meeting in May. Open or Close Happy One-Year Anniversary to Burberry!

This month we are celebrating Burberry's one-year anniversary as a member of the CleanChain community!
Burberry has set the target of eliminating the use of chemicals that may have a negative environmental impact by 2020.
Burberry continuously strives to partner with industry associations, other brands, academic organizations, chemical suppliers, and other stakeholders to achieve further progress in this area. Burberry believes that CleanChain will enable collaboration among supply chain partners to effectively manage their chemical usage in their own facilities and with their upstream supply chain.

Open or Close MAS Holdings Makes a CleanChain Connection with ADEC Innovations in Journey Toward Elimination of Hazardous Materials

As part of its zero toxic commitments, MAS needed a process and reporting system that provided inventory registration and management, usage tracking and dashboard views for each of their facilities around the globe. MAS selected CleanChain for its unique features, which allowed them to create these solutions.
Working together, MAS and ADEC Innovations implemented CleanChain to fulfill their specific reporting needs. MAS has since facilitated the adoption of CleanChain at 20 chemical intensive manufacturing facilities in Australia, Bangladesh, China, Germany, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Sri Lanka, the UK, the US, and Vietnam.
